The Rikhtaar Group is a collective of designers and makers who, above all else, are concerned with experience, constantly working on ideas, improvement, and ultimately achieving bold and innovative designs. This group was formed with the goal of producing and creating design ideas from small-scale projects in the short term to larger and more complex designs in the long term. In this regard, and considering the necessary conditions and prerequisites, we started our work focusing on functional and decorative design and interior design, and have become a group consisting of several volunteer designers and makers. The important principle in Rikhtaar’s path is commitment to authenticity, quality, and openness to designs, ideas, and designers.
This group was formed not with capital and capitalist backing, but based on design collaboration, and not solely for economic profit, but ultimately with the intention of achieving a flexible medium for transforming ideas into products for designers. We believe that the more we can expand design collaboration in a space with the logic and mechanism of design and ideation, and in relative security from the compulsion of the market and pure profit-seeking, the more this ideal perspective can become attainable.
Rikhtaar is eager to experiment and innovate with new and creative materials and forms. Rikhtaar emphasizes authenticity and creativity, and if through collaboration, facilities, and its medium it can transform good design from idea to reality, it has achieved everything it wanted.
